BlueTec® from Mercedes-Benz requires the AdBlue additive. Drivers of BlueTec® vehicles do not consider having to fill the tank with AdBlue a problem in any sense whatsoever because AdBlue is an odourless, non-toxic, aqueous solution that is carried in a tank. AdBlue can be obtained from most service stations in a handy refillable container. Many fuel stations also have an AdBlue pump. And more are being added all the time. One practical and cost-effective alternative that is taken up by many fleets is the installation of a private pump at the vehicle depot, this can dramatically reduce the cost of the AdBlue per litre, often making it cheaper than diesel.
