Welcome to the second edition of the Mercedes BenZine, with the latest news and views from the world of Mercedes-Benz.
In this issue we reveal the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Describing this vehicle is no easy matter. Even at a standstill it is riveting: the vast hood, sensually rounded surfaces, gloriously crafted lines on the aluminium spaceframe body and the inimitable gullwing doors. And then there’s the engine: with a rated output of 420kW, the V8 unit propels the SLS AMG from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Also, we take a look at the four-seater for all seasons. The new E-Class Cabriolet delivers top-down driving pleasure all year round. Even on the coolest of days, the touch of a button can serve up a dose of springtime thanks to the latest additions to the E-Class: AIRCAP® and AIRSCARF®. ‘Topless’ driving fans no longer need to rely solely upon speed and outside air temperature for comfort.
Lastly, take a test drive into the future with the world’s first series production fuel cell-powered car: the B-Class F-Cell. This vehicle is a milestone on the road to zero-emission mobility. On one tankful — just under four kilograms of hydrogen — the B-Class F-Cell provides around 400 kilometres of locally zero-emission driving. And all to the unfamiliar driving ‘sound’ of silence.
