The latest generation of SL-Class models are equipped with the second-generation Active Body Control (ABC) system as standard (optional for the SL 350). The renowned active suspension control system minimises body movements when starting off and when braking. Sophisticated measuring technology, which processes data received from a total of ten sensors, enables even more thrilling cornering as lateral movements are reduced considerably.

The selectable sport mode offers refined response: a stiffened chassis and further reduced roll angles sharpen the handling dynamics and enhance safety, for example when performing sudden evasive manoeuvres. In addition, the driver benefits from the speed-sensitive power steering system which is now even more direct.
