You can choose from four different petrol engines for the C-Class. The entry-level version comes in the guise of two 4-cylinder models, which are turbocharged: the C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY and the C 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY.
The C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY delivers 135 kW of power and a maximum torque rating of 270 Nm. The C 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY produces an outstanding 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 8.2 and 7.4 seconds, with top speeds limited to 210 km/h.
The C-Class is a particularly efficient proposition thanks to the 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY and C 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY.
Development of the new generation of 4-cylinder engines (based on increasing performance and reducing consumption) has continued on an ongoing basis. Thanks to BlueEFFICIENCY technologies and measures, fuel consumption has been reduced significantly compared with previous models.
A key factor here is the exhaust-gas turbocharger, which helped to increase the efficiency of the 4-cylinder petrol engines. The optimised 1.8 litre engines with direct petrol injection and variable valve timing burn fuel particularly efficiently.
Refined power – in the shape of the 6-cylinder powerplant in the C 300. It embodies the perfect symbiosis of refinement and fast acceleration. The maximum torque of 300 Nm is available across a particularly wide engine speed range, ensuring impressive power reserves are on tap in any driving situation.
A further feature of the V6 engine is the exemplary fuel consumption. All thanks to the four variable camshafts with infinitely adjustable control as circumstances necessitate. Consequently, just the right amount of fuel is added as the particular driving situation demands. The C 300 delivers 170 kW (231 hp) and its acceleration time from 0-100km/h is just 7.2 seconds.

The C 63 AMG has a naturally aspirated AMG V8 engine generating 336 kW and 600 Nm of torque. It is a thoroughbred sports engine that delivers outstanding performance thanks to its high-speed concept and naturally aspirated engine design. It accelerates the C-Class from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
