2004: Three Citaro FuelCell vehicles commenced a two-year trial as regular-service buses in the Australian city of Perth, the trial was then extended to a third year.

2005: Three Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCell regular-service buses were sent to China. In Beijing they undertook a two-year trial in operation as regular-service buses.
